Have you heard? The Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon is scheduled to return as a two-day event, Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, 2024. Your residence or business is among those that are affected by the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K courses. We’re providing you with as much information as we can so you can best navigate in and out of your neighborhood, especially if you need to drive on the morning of Sunday, May 5.
IMPORTANT INFO
Runners and walkers will be starting and ending at the Arcadia Creek Festival Place in Downtown Kalamazoo (145 E Water St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007).
The Marathon starts at 7:00 AM, followed by the Half Marathon at 8:30. The 10K Run begins at 8:50 AM followed by the 5K Walk/Run at 9:00 AM. All runners and walkers should be off all courses by 1:30 PM.
Roads in your neighborhood will be open but for safety reasons, runners will have the right of way. There will be delays as police protection and course monitors will be holding traffic until there are big enough breaks in the groups of runners and walkers.

closed Sunday 6:00 AM - 9:15 AM
Eastbound Stadium Dr from Howard to Lovell St
closed Sunday from 6:55 AM - 9:30 AM
Kalamazoo Mall from Michigan Ave to Lovell St
closed Sunday 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
(Peregrine Apartments will have the ability to exit if needed)
Northbound Lovers Lane from Kilgore Rd to Lakeway Ave
closed 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
PORTAGE
Roads will close intermittently at these intersections in Portage Sunday morning where runners are actively crossing. Cars will be able to pass through where there are gaps in the runners so roads are still passable but expect delays:
