ABOUT
The Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon attracts participants from all over the U.S. and is an annual community celebration of supporting a healthy lifestyle for all through movement and connections.
Events encompass a Marathon, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon Relay, 10K, 5K, 5K Walk, PNC Kids’ 1K Run, and the Ascension Borgess Health and Wellness Expo. It continues the 40-plus-year legacy of the Borgess Run for the Health of It!/Kalamazoo Marathon. Events start and finish in Downtown Kalamazoo’s Bronson Park where participants and the community enjoy a fun, festive environment with entertainment, food, and beverages.

THE LOCATION
Kalamazoo is located halfway between Detroit and Chicago, 47 minutes south of Grand Rapids and 40 miles from Lake Michigan. Just minutes from downtown Kalamazoo, you’ll find breathtaking nature, with endless opportunities to bike, hike, camp, kayak, golf, and ski. The area is known for craft beer and is also home to world-class museums and attractions including the Smithsonian-affiliated Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Museum and the Gilmore Car Museum, North America’s largest automobile museum. In Kalamazoo, you get to enjoy big-city excitement, with a twist of easy-going comfort.
THE EXPERIENCE
All races start and finish at Bronson Park and run through Downtown Kalamazoo. Courses wind through spectator-lined Kalamazoo neighborhoods. Known for its highly spirited excitement zones and water stations, the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K run through Waldo Stadium, Western Michigan University’s football stadium with the Marathon and Half Marathon continuing into the Winchell Neighborhood, and to Bronson Blvd. new home of the infamous Bacon Station. 5K, 10K, and Half participants enjoy Gummy Bear Forest. All participants are welcome at the dill-icious Pickle Pit! The Marathon course includes the Portage Creek Bicentennial Trail, Stryker Instruments campus, Milham Park, Milwood Neighborhood, Edison Neighborhood and the Downtown Kalamazoo Mall. All participants and spectators can enter the Stryker Finish Line Celebration in Downtown Kalamazoo.
